Today we celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We honor Dr. King by reflecting on our own journey and our role in working to help his dream become a reality. And because of this reflection, today is significant for GreenPath. Today marks the first year, in nearly six decades of our company’s history, that we are closing for business, recognizing this day as a day off for our regular work, and a “day on” for service.

There are multiple ways our team members are honoring this day of service to support racial equity, diversity, inclusion and service across the country. Some team members are volunteering at local community organizations – of course, while following COVID protocols. Other GreenPath employees with children are sharing activities and education related to this special day with their families.

Our work toward inclusion, diversity, equity and access does not stop here. We are excited about our ongoing work towards a more equitable, inclusive and accessible workplace and nation.

Hope and Healing

Coretta Scott King once noted “The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday celebrates the life and legacy of a man who brought hope and healing to America.”

I and the entire GreenPath leadership team understand the significant importance of bringing hope and healing to others and our communities. We represent a wonderful mission that is fueled by the respect and empathy we exhibit, and our work to put the needs of clients, partners, and employees at the center of everything we do.

GreenPath is committed to helping our country, our communities, and our team members make progress against inequalities, in the spirit of Dr. King.  I encourage you to explore the following resources that may help you and others celebrate the importance of this day.

Resources to Explore:

The King Center: Established in 1968 by Mrs. Coretta Scott King, The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change (“The King Center”) was envisioned by its founder to be “no dead monument, but a living memorial filled with all the vitality that was his, a center of human endeavor, committed to the causes for which he lived and died.”

Day of Service Resources: It’s always a good time to understand how to serve.

King Kids: Resources for Kids to help everyone fully understand the importance of this day.
