(MADISON, WI – Feb. 12, 2016) — GreenPath Financial Wellness, in partnership with Meridian Group, Associated Bank and the United Way of Kenosha County, will provide a Financial Wellness Development Series in February, March and April, in Racine and Kenosha. The free, one-hour workshops will help individuals get a better understanding of budgeting, credit reports and dealing with their debt issues.
Budgeting for Financial Independence – Kenosha: Tue., Feb. 16 (6 pm) and Sat., Feb. 20 (9 am)
Learn a step-by-step process for creating a budget and sticking to it. The workshop will also explore the barriers people face when it comes to achieving their personal finance goals and ways around those barriers to success.
Understanding Credit Reports & Scores – Kenosha: Tue., March 1 (6 pm) and Sat., March 5 (9 am); Racine: Tue., March 15 (2 pm)
We’ve all seen the numbers and have heard about the importance of them, but why should we be concerned about our credit reports and scores? This workshop will explain how to pull your credit report, how your credit score affects your borrowing power, and will dispel myths about both.
Dealing with Debt – Kenosha: Tue., March 29 (6 pm) and Sat., April 9 (9 am); Racine: Tue., April 12 (2 pm)
We will explore options for handling various types of debt from credit cards to student loans. We’ll discuss how to handle debt issues on your own or when it might be best to ask from help from an outside group.
Racine workshops will be held at Albert House – Community Room, 4000 Maryland Avenue in Racine.
Kenosha workshops will be held at the Kenosha County Jobs Center at 8600 Sheridan Road in Kenosha.
