Saving money on clothing can be done by making sure your monthly budget includes clothing purchases, even if you don’t buy clothes every month. This will keep you on track.

Keeping the costs of clothing down can be tricky, especially if you have growing children. Remember, being a frugal shopper doesn’t mean you can’t get high quality clothes. It just means that you need to have good shopping habits.

Here are a few tips to help you save money on clothes:

1. Look for Online Deals

Websites offer shoppers amazing tools for saving money on clothing. Many online shops offer great deals on clothing. It’s easy to compare products before making a decision.  If you like to shop at a specific store, check its website to see if you can register to receive e-mail promotions with discounts.

2. Check Out Discount Chains

When you are shopping for great deals on clothing,  look at the discount chains. Many clothing stores have made discount clothes a business model. They take clothes that are overstocks or have something slightly wrong with them. This way they can sell brand-name clothing at much cheaper prices than normal.

3. Shop Out Of Season

Shop for clothing out of season to take advantage of deep discounts. For example, instead of waiting until winter to purchase sweaters or a winter coat, go shopping for cold weather clothes in the spring. When winter is over, retailers will often mark down winter clothing to make room for warm weather inventory.

4. Try Thrift Stores & Garage Sales

Another way to save money on clothing is to check out local thrift stores and garage sales. Many people routinely clean out their closets and sell clothes at garage sales. Most of the time, the clothing they sell was rarely worn or sometimes never worn at all. And they are usually willing to haggle on the price.  You can find some high quality clothing at inexpensive prices.
