GreenPath Awards Four Winners in “Be Money Wi$e” Poster Contest Farmington Hills, Mich., March 3, 2009 — GreenPath Debt Solutions recently invited elementary-through-high-school students to participate in the nationwide “BE MONEY WI$E” poster contest sponsored by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and announces three winners from among entrants to GreenPath locations in Michigan, New York and Wisconsin:
- Catherine Javier , a seventh grade student at Power Middle School in Farmington Hills, Mich.
- Kelly Johnson, a tenth grader at Waukesha South High School in Waukesha, Wisc.
- Kelsey Fosstveit, a sixth grader at Cornwall Central Middle School in Cornwell, New York
Their posters will be entered in the national contest held in Washington, DC, in April, Financial Literacy Month. Additionally, each of these winners will be presented with a $100 prize and a pizza party for their classes, courtesy of GreenPath Debt Solutions.
Among the many creative and unique posters received, Javier’s, Johnson’s and Fosstveit’s stood out as judges’ favorites, scoring higher points than any of the others in categories that included theme, artwork style and content and creativity. They also clearly indicated an understanding of important money management topics.
GreenPath is proud to be part of the NFCC’s “Be Money Wi$e” poster contest. The initiative engages youth in promoting the importance of wise money management while providing instructors with an easy and exciting way to introduce fiscal responsibility to their classes.
